TERRA is real solid wood — each plank cut from species like eucalyptus, pine and paulownia, every piece unique. LOFT is high-density engineered wood with a premium decorative melamine finish, built for consistent, architectural slat walls. We name every material exactly as it is: no vinyl, no laminate, no printed photograph of wood.

TERRA boards will not, and that is the point — tone and grain shift from plank to plank because the tree did. Mix boards from different boxes as you install and the wall reads as one piece rather than as stripes. LOFT is engineered, so it repeats consistently. One more thing: color on a screen is never the color in your room, which is why a sample beats a photograph.

TERRA is about 3 mm of real wood on 1 mm of pre-applied adhesive — roughly 4 mm off the wall in total, thin enough that most trim and outlet covers still sit right. LOFT is a large-format panel with a deeper profile, since the slats are what create the shadow.

No. Both lines arrive finished — TERRA with a factory matte coating, LOFT with its decorative surface. Nothing to sand, nothing to varnish, nothing to dry.

They are not designed to be sanded, painted or refinished — the coating is factory-applied and thin. Choose the species and finish before you order; that is what samples are for.

No. FWW panels do not carry a certified fire rating. For a commercial project, check your local building code before specifying them — and talk to us first if you need documentation.

It is real wood, so yes — a sharp impact or an abrasive can mark it, the same way it would mark a wood floor or a table. Normal contact is fine; treat it as furniture, not as tile.

Yes — that is the whole point. Four moves: measure, cut, peel & stick, press. You will need a circular or miter saw for the cuts; everything else is household-basic. Most people finish a feature wall in an afternoon. See the full installation guide.

For LOFT: measuring tape, level, a compact circular saw or miter saw (a jigsaw also works), masking tape for the cut line, and a J-roller. For TERRA: tape, level, ruler and square, a cutter or saw depending on the wood, gloves and goggles, and a J-roller. TERRA planks also need 72 hours to acclimate in the room before you start.

Neither. The adhesive is already on the back and activates with pressure — that is what the J-roller is for. Press every board firmly along its whole length. The bond is strong once set and the panel is not repositionable, so dry-fit before you peel.

A clean, dry, flat and sound wall: painted drywall, plaster, smooth concrete. The surface has to be free of dust, grease and loose paint — the adhesive can only hold what the wall holds. Textured or crumbling surfaces need preparing first.

Over large tiles with minimal grout lines, yes. Over small tiles with deep grout, no — the panel bridges the gaps instead of bonding, and it will show. If in doubt, skim the wall flat first.

Not on the panels themselves — they are a decorative surface, not structure. Anchor into the studs behind the wall, straight through the panel, exactly as you would without it.

They are made for dry interiors. A powder room or a dry wall well away from the shower can work; a bathroom with constant steam will not. Wood moves with humidity, and no adhesive fixes that.

Yes, with two limits: not directly behind the cooktop, and not as a backsplash where water hits. On the other walls of a kitchen they behave like any other interior wall.

Yes, and the coverage math is the same as a wall. Work with a second pair of hands and press every board properly — gravity is not on your side up there.

No. Dry interiors only. Sun, rain and temperature swings will move and mark the wood, and the adhesive is not made for it.

No. They tolerate the humidity of a normal room, not standing water or steam. Wipe a spill; do not hose them down.

Each LOFT box covers 29.4 sq ft; TERRA boxes cover 10 sq ft. Multiply your wall width by height, add 10% for cuts, and round up — the box calculator on every panel page and in the install guide does it for you. If you are between two numbers, take the higher one: a second delivery rarely matches the first exactly.

Please do. Order a sample, hold it against your wall in your own light, and decide with the wood in your hand. It is the cheapest step in the whole project and the one that prevents the expensive mistake.

It represents the species and the finish, not every board you will receive. A sample is one random cut of a natural material — the full order will carry the same character with more range in it. That range is what makes a real wood wall look real.

A dry or slightly damp cloth. No abrasives, no solvents, no steam. Nothing needs sealing or re-coating over time.

They can be removed, but the adhesive is industrial double-sided tape rated for 10 years — it behaves like wallpaper on the way out. Expect to patch and repaint the wall afterwards. If you are renting, check with your landlord before installing.

That is a damage claim, not a return, and no fee applies. Email info@fwwalls.com with your order number and photos of the damaged panels, the packaging and the shipping label, and we will take it from there.

Sealed, unused and uncut boxes can be returned within 30 days with a flat $65 fee covering return shipping and processing; exchanges are free. Installed or cut panels, samples, trims and accessories cannot be returned. Start a return or read the full policy.
